Adoption Application and Procedures
K-9 Adoption Application

Feline Adoption Application

If you are interested in adopting one of our pets, please note:

1.  We must be able to conduct a home visit so adoptions are limited to the San Antonio
and local surrounding areas. We are currently attempting to expand our adoptions to the
Austin and surrounding areas but the adoption process may take a little longer  as we
coordinate  with other rescue groups in that area.

2.  We do not ship pets out of state, no exceptions.

3.  You must be 18 years or older and head of household to apply

4.   Selecting a new family member is a big responsibility. We do not place our pets as a
      "gift" for a third party.

5.  All family pets must be spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations and current on
     heart worm prevention

6.  Regular adoption fee is $150.00 which helps us pay for a portion of the pets spay/neuter,
micro chipping, vaccinations, heart worm testing (for adults), de-worming (as needed),
and a wellness exam by a licensed veterinarian. On occasion, we will require a
$200.00 -$300.00  adoption fee when a pet has incurred extraordinary medical
expenses due to illness or injury.

Our adoption procedures are as follows.

An application must be completed for every adoptable pet. Once received,
veterinary and personal references will be verified. If you are selected as a
match for our foster, a Love For Paws Rescue volunteer will contact you and
schedule a home visit. All members of the house hold, including other pets,
must be present for the home visit as we want to ensure everyone is in
agreement. If we have a good match, we will leave the pet in your home to start
a "Trial Adoption", about 3-5 days.  The trial adoption is designed to give the
family an opportunity to see if the pet is a good fit for your family and life style.
If it is, we finalize the adoption, if it's not, we will refund the doption fee and take
the pet back into our rescue.

It is our mission to ensure that none of our rescues
find themselves homeless again.
Surrender Agreement

Acceptance of a surrendered pet or stray is based on size and space
availability. If we are not able to take your pet or stray, in many instances, we
can provide assistance in finding alternate arrangements. A surrender form
must be completed for each pet needing assistance.
