If you are interested in adopting one of our pets, please note:
1. You must be open to a home visit. Adoptions are limited to San Antonio and local surrounding areas. 2. We do not ship pets out of state, no exceptions. 3. You must be 18 years or older and head of household to apply 4. Selecting a new family member is a big responsibility. We do not place our pets as a "gift" for a third party. 5. All family pets must be spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations and current on heart worm prevention
Our adoption procedures are as follows.
An application must be completed for every adoptable pet. Once received, veterinary and personal references will be verified. If you are selected as a match for our foster, a Love For Paws Rescue volunteer will contact you and schedule a visit. All members of the house hold, including other pets, must be present for the visit as we want to ensure everyone is in agreement. If we have a good match, you will begin a trial adoption which is designed to give the family an opportunity to see if the pet is a good fit for your family and life style. If it is, we finalize the adoption, if it's not, we will refund the adoption fee and take the pet back into our rescue.
Because it is our mission to ensure that none of our rescues find themselves homeless again, we vow to take any one of our adopted rescues back for the life of the pet, should their new family find that they can no longer care for him/her.
Surrender Agreement Acceptance of a surrendered pet or stray is based on size and space availability. If we are not able to take your pet or stray, in many instances, we can provide assistance in finding alternate arrangements. A surrender form must be completed for each pet needing assistance.
